What is a Social Profile in RecurPost?

Social Profiles in RecurPost is where you can manage all your connected social media accounts. It allows you to add new profiles, view existing ones, and manage connections to different social media platforms.

How do I connect my Social Profiles to RecurPost?

To connect a social profile, go to this sidebar menu and click on the Social Profiles option and then select the social media profile you want to link.

How many Social Profiles can I connect with RecurPost?

The number of social media accounts you can connect depends on the RecurPost plan you opt for. Check out our Plans page to view the various plans offered.

What types of Social Profiles does RecurPost support?

We support the following social platforms:

Can I connect multiple profiles from the same social network?

Yes, you can connect multiple profiles from the same social network. For instance, if you add 2 Facebook Pages, 1 Twitter Profile, 2 LinkedIn Profiles and 1 Facebook Group then it would count as 6 accounts in total.

2. Setup and Configuration:

How do I reconnect a disconnected Social Profile?

To reconnect your social profile, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your RecurPost account.
  • Go to the Social Profiles in the Sidebar menu.
  • Find the social profile you want to reconnect and click the Reconnect option below it.

Why did my Social Profile disconnect and how can I prevent it?

Social profile disconnections can occur due to continuous updates and changes made by social networks like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others. These networks frequently update their policies and security measures, requiring you to reconnect your accounts with RecurPost to maintain compliance and optimal functionality.

  • Facebook and Instagram: Facebook expires the token every 60 days, which means your Facebook and Instagram accounts may disconnect after this period. To prevent this, you should reconnect your accounts before the 60-day mark to avoid any post failure.
  • LinkedIn: LinkedIn tokens are automatically refreshed every 60 days, so RecurPost generally stays connected. However, once a year (after 365 days), you need to reauthorize your LinkedIn account to continue posting through RecurPost.
  • Google Business Profile: The token for Google Business Profile expires every 200 days. When this happens, RecurPost may disconnect from your Google Business Profile, so it’s important to reconnect and re-authenticate your account by granting the necessary permissions.
  • Twitter and Pinterest: For these platforms, an access token will be invalidated if you explicitly revoke RecurPost from the Apps and Sessions page of your Twitter or Pinterest account. To avoid disconnection, ensure that RecurPost remains authorized in your account settings.

By regularly reconnecting your social profiles before their tokens expire, you can prevent disconnections and ensure that your scheduled posts continue without interruption. For more detailed information, you can refer to this article.

What permissions does RecurPost need to manage my Social Profiles?

RecurPost requires permissions solely to post content on your behalf. We do not have the ability to make changes to your account or access any other personal information.

Can I change the permissions granted to RecurPost for my Social Profiles?

Yes, you can change and control the permissions granted to RecurPost at any time. To do this, simply visit the settings of the social media platform where you want to adjust the permissions. However, please be aware that changing these permissions may disconnect your social account from RecurPost.

3. Posting and Content Management:

How do I schedule posts to multiple Social Profiles at once?

To schedule posts to multiple social profiles with RecurPost is quite simple. First, click on Share a post.

After that, select all the social profiles where you want to post and add the content you want to share. Then, select the date and time you want the post to go live. You can also auto-schedule your content to be posted at the best time.

You can schedule posts to multiple social profiles simultaneously and set them to recur as planned. To share posts from a ‘Library’ on a recurring basis, you’ll need to set up recurring schedules. These schedules can be viewed and adjusted for each library by going to the ‘Library’ page.

To create a new schedule, select the library you wish to configure (as shown below) and click the ‘+ Add Recurring Time Slots’ button.

From there, you can establish schedules on a Daily, Weekly, or Monthly basis, or create a Custom schedule for posting every other week. For a more detailed guide, please refer to this article.

Can I customize content for each Social Profile when scheduling a post or adding post to library?

Yes, you can customize your post while scheduling one-off post or adding content to library. Simply click on the ‘Customize‘ button you see in the post.

After that, you’ll be able to tailor the post separately for each social platform.

How do I view the posting schedule for all my Social Profiles?

You can view the posting schedule for all your social profiles under the ‘Queue‘ section on the ‘Calendar’ page.

Additionally, you can switch to the monthly view for a broader overview of your scheduled posts.

What happens if I edit a post on Queue that’s already scheduled for multiple Social Profiles?

If you edit a post that’s already scheduled for multiple social profiles, the changes will apply to the profiles where the edits were made (on Queue). However, these changes won’t affect the version of the post saved in your library.

Can I delete or reschedule a post for a specific Social Profile only on Queue?

Yes, you can delete or reschedule a post for a specific social profile.

To delete a post:

  • Navigate to the “Queue” under the Calendar in the sidebar menu.
  • Find the post you wish to delete and click on the ‘Trash’ Icon.

To reschedule a post:

  • Go to the “History” tab.
  • Locate the post you want to reschedule and click on the “Reschedule” Icon.
  • Adjust the scheduling as needed.

4. Troubleshooting:

Why is my post not showing up on my Social Profile?

There could be a few reasons for this issue. If you are a new user, first ensure that your time zone setting is correct. You can check and adjust your time zone by going to the Account Settings page. To access this page, click on your name in the bottom-left corner on a desktop browser or use the hamburger menu on mobile devices.

If a post fails to appear due to any reason then, you will find an explanation in the History tab on the ‘Calendar’ page. You can resolve the issue by correcting any errors and scheduling your post again.

What should I do if my Social Profile fails to connect?

First, ensure that while reconnecting you are granting all the necessary permissions required by RecurPost to manage your social profiles on your behalf. If you continue to experience issues with connecting your account, you can use our live chat support or email us at support@recurpost.com for further assistance.
