Import Videos from Google Drive using RecurPost’s API

In this guide, we will explain how to add video details accurately to bring video from our API.

These features will help you manage your video content effectively, ensuring smooth integration and scheduling. Let’s see how to do that:

1. Find the Video: Go to Google Drive and log in with your Google account to find the video you want to import.

2. Copy the Video URL: Right-click on the video or click on 3 vertical dots -> click on “Share” button -> and then click on ‘Share’ again.

3. In the dialog box, under “General Access”, choose ‘Anyone with the link’ and then copy link

4. Get ID from the copied URL: Paste the link in the web address and copy the ID from it.

5. Paste the id in the correct URL: The final URL should like look below and you need to paste the ID between the URL.

https://drive.usercontent.google.com/download?id=ID&export=download

Important Notes:

  • Not all web pages allow video copying; ensure the video is publicly accessible and not behind a paywall.
  • Avoid using copyrighted videos unless you have permission.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Issue 1: Video URL Not Accepted

  • Ensure the URL points directly to the video file (e.g., ends with .mp4 or .mov).
  • Use publicly accessible links.

Issue 2: API Request Fails

  • Check your API key for validity.
  • Verify the endpoint URL and ensure all required fields are included.

Issue 3: Video Doesn’t Play After Importing

  • Check if the original video source allows external embedding.
  • Confirm the video URL is still active.

By using RecurPost’s API feature, you can seamlessly manage your video content. If you have any questions or face issues while using these features, feel free to reach out to us at support@recurpost.com.
