Types of Instagram Accounts
Instagram offers three main types of accounts. To identify what type of account you currently have, follow these steps:
- Open the Instagram app and log in to your account.
- Go to your profile by tapping on your profile picture at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) at the top-right corner
- Then select “Business Tools and Controls” > “Switch Account Type”.
- If you see options like “Switch to Personal Account” or “Switch to Creator Account,” you currently have a business account and vice-versa.
Features available as per the Account Type
Once you determine the type of account you have and here are some features available as per your account:

How to Switch Instagram Account Type?

Follow the bellow steps to change your Instagram account type:
- Log into your Instagram account on your Instagram mobile app.
- Go to Settings and privacy.
- Tap on Creator tools and controls -> Switch account type -> Switch to business account (If your account type is a Personal account and vice versa) option and Switch.
