Every social platform enforces its own limits on how many posts an account can publish in a 24-hour period. RecurPost aligns with those limits to make sure your posts are delivered safely without risking account restrictions.
These are not RecurPost’s arbitrary caps, they come directly from the platforms themselves. Our job is to respect those rules while still giving you flexibility and clarity.
Platform-Wise Daily Limits
Platform | Daily Limit | What Counts | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Facebook Pages | Up to 35 posts | All types of posts (text, image, video, link) | Facebook recommends much less (around 5/day) for best reach. |
Instagram Business & Creator | 50 total | Posts, reels, stories and carousels combined | Each story slide is counted separately. But Carousels posted on Feed count as a single post. |
X (Twitter) | 100 posts | Tweets and thread parts | Threads: each segment counts toward the limit. |
LinkedIn Profiles & Pages | 50 posts | Text, images, videos and links | Engaging fewer, higher-quality posts usually performs better. |
25 if verified **, 5 if not | Pins across boards | Verify your email to unlock the higher limit. | |
TikTok | 25 posts | Videos only | Applies equally to business and personal accounts. |
Google Business Profiles | 50 posts | Updates and offers | Each unique update counts as one. |
YouTube | 5 if unverified, unlimited if verified ** | Feed & Shorts both | Verification removes the cap. |
Threads | 250 posts | Posts | ———- |
Bluesky | 100 posts | Posts | ———- |
Note: These are per rolling 24-hour periods, not reset at midnight. For instance, if you hit a cap at 2 PM, the count resets at 2 PM the next day.
Posting Limits vs Queue Limits
It’s easy to mix these two up:
- Posting limits = How many posts can actually go live on a given platform within 24 hours.
- Queue limits = How many posts you can schedule in advance in RecurPost (depends on your plan).
Even if your queue is full, only the number of posts within the daily posting limit will actually publish.
Best Practices
- Stay below the ceiling. Just because you can post 35 times on Facebook doesn’t mean you should. Most platforms reward consistency and quality over volume.
- Verify your accounts. On platforms like Pinterest and YouTube, verification unlocks higher posting limits.
- Space things out. RecurPost automatically spaces your scheduled content, but if you’re posting manually, aim for natural gaps rather than bursts.
Common Questions
Q: What happens if I exceed the limit?
– Your post will stay in RecurPost but won’t be published until the rolling 24-hour window allows it.
Q: Do drafts or queued posts count?
– No, only posts that actually publish to a social platform count toward your limit.
Q: Do deleted posts count toward the daily limit?
– Yes, if a post has already been published to the platform and then deleted there, it still counts toward the limit for that 24-hour window.
Q: What if I edit a post after publishing?
– Edits don’t count as new posts.
Q: Do recycled posts from RecurPost count toward the daily limit?
– Yes. Whether it’s a brand new post or one being repeated from your libraries, the platform treats it the same way.
Q: If I connect multiple accounts on the same platform, are the limits shared?
– No. Limits apply per account, per platform. For example, two LinkedIn pages connected = each can publish 50 posts daily.
Q: Does scheduling in advance affect the limit?
– No. You can schedule as many as your RecurPost plan allows. Limits only apply at the moment of publishing.
Q: What happens if I schedule more posts than the daily limit?
– RecurPost will attempt to publish them in order. Once the platform’s daily cap is hit, remaining posts will be failed. Once the limit is over then next scheduled posts will go out fine.
Q: Can these limits change?
– Yes, platforms sometimes adjust posting restrictions without much notice. RecurPost updates its systems quickly, but it’s always good to stay aware.
Q: Why do platforms set these limits at all?
– They’re meant to prevent spam and protect user experience. It’s less about punishing brands, more about keeping feeds balanced.
Q: Does engagement drop if I post close to the maximum limit?
– It can, the algorithm often favors steady, thoughtful posting over volume. Treat the maximums as guardrails, not goals.
Q: What is a verified account? **
– A verified account is one where the platform has confirmed your identity, usually by checking your email, phone number or business documentation. Verification often unlocks higher posting limits.
For example:
- Pinterest: Verified boards lets you post up to 25 pins/day instead of 5.
- YouTube: Verified accounts can post more than 5 videos instead of being capped at 5/day.
Verification doesn’t affect how RecurPost schedules posts, but it ensures the platform treats your account as legitimate, which helps prevent restrictions or blocks.
