You do not have to resize images yourself. RecurPost accepts uploads up to 30 MB and automatically adjusts each image to fit whichever network you are posting to, so a single upload can go to all of them.
Only what is out of spec gets changed. If an image is already within a network’s limits it is published exactly as you uploaded it. When something does need adjusting, RecurPost:
- scales the image down if it is larger than the network allows;
- adds padding above and below, or at the sides, if the shape is outside what the network accepts. Nothing is ever cropped, so no part of your picture is cut off;
- converts the file where the network requires it, for example Instagram and TikTok only accept JPEG;
- reduces quality only as a last resort, when an image is still over the size limit after being scaled down.
The guidelines below are what each network’s own API accepts. They are useful for knowing what RecurPost may adjust before publishing, rather than rules you have to meet before uploading.
- File type: JPG or PNG
- Recommended image size is 1200 x 630 pixels (1.91:1 to 1:1 Ratio)
- Maximum file size must be 10 MB.
- No minimum width or height. Images wider than 2048 px are scaled down.
- You can share up to 20 images in a single post, and the same limit applies to Facebook profiles, pages and groups.
- LinkedIn supports up to 6012 x 6012 px image size. However, LinkedIn recommends using images with a 1.91:1 aspect ratio (such as 1200 x 627 pixels) to share the post.
- If the image width is less than 200 pixels wide, it will appear as a thumbnail on the left side of the post.
- Maximum file size must be 8 MB.
- Supported file type: LinkedIn supports common image file formats such as JPEG, PNG, and GIF.
- You can share up to 20 images in a single post using RecurPost.
Twitter/X
- Photos can be up to 5 MB and animated GIFs can be up to 15 MB.
- Supported image types are GIF, JPEG, and PNG files. BMP and TIFF files are not supported.

- Size: Between 10 KB and 5 MB.

- Minimum resolution: 300 px tall, 400 px wide.

TikTok
TikTok accepts photo posts as well as videos. More than one image publishes as a swipeable carousel.
- Format: JPEG and WebP. TikTok rejects PNG on its photo endpoint, so RecurPost converts a PNG to JPEG for you before it is sent.
- File Size: 20 MB maximum per image.
- Images per post: You can share up to 10 images in a single post using RecurPost.
- Dimensions: TikTok’s photo canvas is 1080 x 1920 whichever way round the image is. Very small images are scaled up, because TikTok rejects anything under roughly 720 pixels on its short edge.
Bluesky
- Format: JPEG and PNG.
- File Size: 900 KB maximum, the tightest limit of any network here. Bluesky rejects anything over roughly 976 KB outright, so RecurPost resizes to stay safely under it. The Bluesky app only appears to accept large photos because it shrinks them on your phone before uploading.
- Images per post: You can share up to 4 images in a single post using RecurPost.
- Dimensions: up to 2000 pixels wide.
