There might be certain instances when you encounter errors while publishing a post from your RecurPost account to your Google Business profile. There might be a few reasons behind such errors which we’re going to discuss, along with their possible solutions.
1. Empty message
Error message: Google Business account doesn’t allow posting with empty messages. Please add a message and try again.
Solution: A text message is required to share a post on a Google Business account. Add a message in the text field and try posting again.
2. Add a message
Error message: Google Business Profile doesn’t allow posting with empty messages. Please add a message and try again.
Solution: This is the same error as the first one. If you have only added an image or call to action, the post will not be uploaded. You need to add some text too.
3. Image size or message length
Error message: Please make sure your image is not too small and your message is no longer than 1500 characters.
Solution: Check the size of the image that you are trying to post. The recommended size of a Google Business Profile post image is 1200 X 900 pixels. Image must not be less than 10 kb and should have a minimum ratio of 400 x 300 pixels. Also, check your message length. It should be under 1500 characters only.
4. Image unavailable
Error message: The size of the preview image of your link 0px X 0px is too small! It must be at least 400 pixels wide and 300 pixels tall.
Solution: The ‘0px X 0px’ indicates that the image you are trying to upload is unavailable or invalid.
5. Character limit
Error message: Your post exceeds the standard character limit of 1500 characters. Please consider shortening it and try again.
Solution: Shorten the length of the message written in the text field. Google Business Profile post support only up to 1500 text characters.
6. Access lost
Error message: You lack the proper authorization required to upload content on your Google Business Profile location.
Solution: We may have lost access to your account. Try reconnecting your Google Business account to reauthorize RecurPost and continue posting on your location.
7. Preview image size
Error message: The size of the preview image of your link *** x *** is too small! It must be at least 400 pixels wide and 300 pixels tall.
Solution: If you are posting from the Google Business Profile dashboard, the best image size for a Google Business Profile post is 1200 x 900 pixels, a 4:3 image ratio. Always center the subject of your image vertically and horizontally. When you add a link in your message, a preview image will automatically be fetched. You can edit this image as per the recommended settings or upload an image of your own to solve this error.
8. Location disabled
Error message: We cannot post on this location as it is disabled by Google Business Profile. – or – You don’t have authorization to create/update a local post for this location.
Solution: If you are posting to Google Business Profile which has more than 10 locations (franchise) using your RecurPost account, you will receive this error message.
This means that you will not be able to post through a scheduling tool or any third-party app. You’ll have to manually go to the Google Business Location and create a post.
You can manage the limit of the number of locations for your account by requesting bulk verification here https://support.google.com/business/answer/4490296. It establishes your ability to manage information for 10 or more locations of the same business across Google products, like Maps and Search.
9. Service unavailable
Error message: This service is temporarily unavailable. Please try later.
Solution: This error indicates that there is some issue with Google’s server. Try rescheduling the post again after some time.
10. Resource exhausted
Error message: Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota).
Solution: Google mostly returns such type of error when a user sends too many requests. Wait for a while and try posting again.

11. Image not supported
Error message: Multiframe images not supported.
Solution: EXIF data is embedded in images to provide extra details, such as orientation changes (like from landscape to portrait) or if the image is a multi-frame file. However, not all social media platforms support this data.
To ensure your image posts correctly on RecurPost, you can view and remove EXIF data from your images on this page before uploading them. This helps prevent any potential issues with your image’s display once posted.
