RecurPost makes it easy to measure the effectiveness of your shared content by allowing you to track the number of clicks your links receive. With click tracking, you can see how your audience interacts with your posts and use this data to optimize your social media strategy.
What is Click Tracking?
Click Tracking is a feature that shortens your links and monitors how many times they are clicked. Instead of sharing long links directly, RecurPost automatically shortens them and provides you with valuable engagement insights.
This helps you:
- Understand which posts drive the most traffic.
- Compare performance across different platforms.
- Refine your posting strategy with data-driven insights.
How to Enable Click Tracking?
There are two ways to enable click tracking in RecurPost:
1. Global Click Tracking
When enabled, all links across all social accounts connected to your RecurPost account will automatically be shortened and tracked.
Steps to enable:
- Go to Account Settings > Click Tracking.
- Turn ON the toggle for Global Click Tracking.
- Once enabled, every link shared via RecurPost will be shortened and tracked automatically, regardless of the social profile.
👉 Use this if you want a universal tracking setup across all accounts.
2. Per-Social Profile Click Tracking
If you want more control and prefer tracking links for only specific social accounts, you can enable click tracking individually.
Steps to enable:
- Go to Social Profiles > [Select Profile] > Settings.
- Enable the option “Track clicks on this profile.”
- From now on, only links shared from that specific profile will be shortened and tracked.
👉 Use this if you want to analyze clicks account by account instead of globally.
Where to View Click Data?
You can view click metrics in the History section of your Calendar.
Steps:
- Go to Calendar > History.
- Each published post will display engagement metrics such as:
- Likes
- Comments
- Shares
- Link Clicks (new!)
This allows you to see exactly how many people clicked on the links in each post.
How Click Tracking Works
- If Global Tracking is ON → All links across all accounts are shortened and tracked automatically.
- If you prefer selective tracking → Keep Global Tracking OFF and enable tracking under specific profile settings.
- If both are enabled → Profile-level settings will take priority.
Important Note: Click Tracking does not apply to links added in the first comment of a post. Only links included in the main post text (caption) are tracked.
